On Friday, June 12th we are proud to announce the official launch of an awareness campaign for the ever, important industry of journalism. Working with Stratcom and Unifor, Canada’s largest union, along side their sponsors and partners in the professional journalism industry we developed the campaign concept, message, strategy, design, and materials.

“The campaign aims to rally the wider community of journalists and others working in the media, media corporations and media consumers to increase awareness, recognition and support for professional journalism.

“The JournalismIS campaign marks the first phase of a longer term campaign to mobilize the media industry and the public to support professional journalism in Canada. “Right now this campaign about initiating a public conversation,” said Welch. “We believe this is the first step toward taking action to preserve and promote our profession in the future.” (From the official press release.)
