Vinyl Player

1930’s

This is a spring-motor driven 78 rpm acoustical gramophone. It was created to play vinyl records — a flat plastic disc with an inscribed spiral groove. Because of its light weight, low surface noise, and flexibility, the advantages of vinyl made it a popular recording material by the end of the dirty thirties.
