Focusing on people to ensure user-centred design

We take a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to all our client projects, always focusing on people to ensure human connection and user-centric design. Our designer team is involved in every aspect of the project, bringing the benefit of a fresh, “outside-in” perspective to the discussion, where we act as a filter for the analysis and learnings.

Ian Chalmers, RGD

Principal & Creative Director

I like to collect technology artifacts to understand the story behind why it fits into peoples lives and how it changes the way we live and work. Intuition plays a key role in my approach, helping me balance instinctive judgment with creative insight when exploring these stories. Also, I wear rose-coloured glasses.

Torey Taferner

Client Relations Director

My favourite thing about User Experience Design is… its remarkable ability to influence human behaviour. Understanding what users are feeling during the design process is essential to create experiences that truly resonate and meet their needs.

Iffat Jokhio, RGD

Experience Designer & Researcher

My favourite thing about User Experience Design is… that you’re always learning. The process enables a taste of new perspectives which, when savoured, can be a crazy, fulfilling thing. User experience design is a journey of continuous learning and discovery, where each stage offers new insights into user thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Rob Tait

Brand & Content Strategist

My favourite thing about User Experience Design is... that it makes things simple but significant.

Brenda Little, RGD

Experience Designer

In my opinion Design is... at the very least, a tool that shapes and informs the world around us. Good design brings beauty and order into our lives, and great design can bring surprise and joy!

Lauren Levy

Experience Designer

I am... a designer by day and an acrylic painter by night.

Dave Brennan

Experience Designer & Developer

My favourite thing about user experience design is... how UX design gives me the chance to dive into so many different problem spaces. Each client’s challenge is unique, and learning about their context is one of the most rewarding parts of the work.

Sam Laurier

Experience Designer

My favourite thing about user experience design is... the opportunity to learn about people's unique experiences on such a personal level. Helping to translate these experiences into designs and systems is satisfyingly challenging and rewarding.

Melvyn Loa

Developer

You had me at "View Source". My favourite thing about User Experience Design is… you. Understanding users—their needs, behaviors, and motivations—is essential for developing effective digital solutions.

Cassandra Gonzales

Visual Designer

But you can call me Cassie. In my opinion, Design is... a creative way to share your vision with the world. Also, I love puns. Specifically food puns.

The PIVOT design team are absolutely amazing to work with! They consistently show up to every meeting with both a wealth of knowledge, a deep curiosity and commitment to partner in the co-design process. In my work with them on two app projects in health care, they used their signature design process, coupled with their desire to authentically understand the issue, to develop a clear and meaningful plan that was built on a genuinely collaborative process. They remain some of my favourite individuals to work with, and I have recommended them to many other academics and social service organizations.”
